Today I got to play a little golf with one of the students here on Nøtterøy Upper Secondary School. He showed me how to play golf and I was so lucky that I got to play a little bit myself. In Norway golf is a popular sport. Most Norwegians play just for fun, but they have a world famous golf player called Suzann Pettersen aslo known as ‘’Tutta’’. There are plenty other activities like, football, dancing, handball, skiing, basketball and volleyball.
Goodbye Tønsberg, it has been a wonderful visit 🙂

Jahn Teigen is a Norwegian singer, from Tønsberg. He is very famous in Norway and he has gotten many prices during his singing career. He received the award Grammy Prize twice, in 1983 and 2009, and he has also won numerous other awards. Here in Tønsberg, they have a sculpture of Jahn Teigen. The sculpture was a gift from his fans. He has represented Norway in the Eurovision Song contest four times. In 1978 Jahn Teigen competed with the song ‘’Mil etter mil’’, and got zero points under the 12 points voting system, but he is still one of the most successful artists in Norway! Below you can see a picture of me and Jahn Teigen’s sculpture!
Hello again! Did you know that on this school, everyone has their own computer? And they almost use it every lesson, taking notes! Today I’ve learned a lot and I have eaten in their cafeteria where they sell lunch, like baguettes. They have special days when you can buy cinnamon rolls and somedays eggs in baguettes and toasts. In the cafeteria they have both small and long tables where students can eat and smalltalk. In the breaks, while picking up books for the next class, they sometimes gather around in the small sofas and around tables and talk. They also have a kind of library where you can borrow books, and there are also sofas and tables where you can sit and study. They also have something called group rooms, which are smaller than normal classrooms. Here you can sit in the breaks or classes and study. I definitely think this school has a high standard, and some of the classrooms are entirely new, with big screens in every classroom. In the break I’ve even got to play a little golf! Keep reading and you’ll see 😉
Hello everyone, Tedd here!
Today I was visiting a little mountain called Slottsfjellet (castle mountain). Slottsfjellet has a height of 63 meters and has ruins of a church and a medieval fortress and a tower. This is the city’s landmark. At the foot of the mountain there is a museum. Each year the city holds the Slottsfjell festival and a Medieval Festival, which many people from Norway and other countries visit in the summer.
Hello, Tedd here!
May 17th is the Norwegians’ National Day. It is a public holiday and an official flag day. In Norway they celebrate their national day more than many other countries in the world. They dress up in their national costumes called ‘’bunad’’ and the children go in a parade with flags and sing songs, especially the Norwegian national anthem. They celebrate this day because Norway got the Constitution on the 17th of May 1814, and the day is also knows as Constitution day. This year they have a 200 years anniversary. I’m really sad that I have to leave one week before this day… but I have seen a national costume! The picture below, is the norwegian parade outside of the castle in the capital, Oslo.
Today I was visiting the famous Osebergskipet which is called “Saga Oseberg”. Saga Oseberg a Viking ship which is almost 1200 years old. In 1904 the famous Viking ship ‘’Osebergskipet’’, was found at the farm Oseberg. Today, the ship is exhibited in the Vikingskipshuset (Viking Ship Museum) in Oslo. The Oseberg discovery is the most magnificent finding from the Viking Age in Norway. Behind the mast of the ship there was timbered a large tomb with the remains of two female skeletons. The Oseberg ship is a ship of light oak and is about 22 meters long, 5, 1 meters wide and had a weight approx. 11 tons. It was built for both sailing and rowing. Today I was so lucky to meet two guys who were dressed in Vikings costumes and also I saw the perfect handmade ship. In one of the pictures you can also see me sitting on a smaller viking boat.
